binutils-multiarch-dev software package provides GNU binary utilities that support multi-arch targets (BFD development files), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install binutils-multiarch-dev
binutils-multiarch-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the binutils-multiarch-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep binutils-multiarch-dev *
You will get with binutils-multiarch-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
